The editor who protects your voice.
Gia K. is the Director of Editorial and Book Production at Columbia Publication. She oversees every manuscript from first draft through global distribution -- and her singular focus is returning your book to you sounding like you on your best day.
"Every author arrives terrified of the same thing: that publishing will sand down what made their book theirs. My job is the opposite. I protect your voice, sharpen it, and hand it back to you sounding like you on your best day -- then I make sure the world can actually find it."
-- Gia K., Director of Editorial & Book Production
A decade building author voices
Gia K. holds a degree in Media Sciences and has spent nearly a decade working inside editorial and book production. Her craft is not formatting or copyediting in the conventional sense -- it is understanding how an author thinks, how they phrase ideas when they are at their most precise, and how to carry that register through an entire manuscript without losing it.
She has worked across genres: literary fiction, memoir, business books, authority titles for C-suite executives, children's literature, and nonfiction across multiple categories. Each genre has its own editorial logic, and Gia moves between them without defaulting to a house style that flattens the author's original voice into something generic.
A significant portion of her work has been with executive authors -- founders, senior leaders, and professionals who have deep domain expertise but limited time for the mechanics of the writing process. These projects require someone who can extract the thinking, shape it into a coherent manuscript architecture, and deliver a finished book the author can stand behind in front of their board, their clients, and the press.
What she protects above all is specificity. The unusual phrasing, the unexpected analogy, the passage that sounds nothing like anyone else's book -- those are the things that make a manuscript worth publishing. Gia's job is to make sure they survive the production process.
What Gia oversees
Editorial Development
Structural and line editing that strengthens argument, narrative, and flow -- without replacing the author's voice with the editor's.

Production & Formatting
Interior design and typesetting to trade publishing standard -- hardcover, paperback, and digital formats that are indistinguishable from traditionally published work.

KDP and IngramSpark setup covering Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and 40,000+ retail and library channels worldwide. ISBN registration, BISAC categorization, and metadata optimization included.
