Price is the easiest thing to compare and the least likely to surprise you. What catches people out is a reprint that does not match the first run, or finding out that the ISBN and the rights sit with someone else. Confirm these seven points in writing before you approve a proof.

Two years later the reprint comes back on a different stock with a different binding, because nobody kept the specification. A print quote is priced from the specification: quantity, format and binding, interior color, page count, trim size, timeline and delivery location. Setup can be billed separately, and it is worth asking, though several printers now include it. When setup and pre-press appear as their own line, two quotes become hard to compare. Columbia Publication does not charge a separate setup fee on print runs.
